Shaheen Visit; Town Helping Residents, Tourists Get Ready for Summer
A notable change, an annual event, accreditation and more are among the Five Things You Need to Know Today.

Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Friday, March 29:
1. New Services Comes to Clerk's Office: The North Hampton Town Clerk/Tax Collector's Office is now registering boats. Town Clerk Sue Buchanan said anyone — North Hampton resident or not — can register any type of boat for operation in New Hampshire waters.

2. Big Decisions to Be Made Tonight: The annual Hampton Beach Village District Precinct elections will be held on from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Hampton Beach fire station.
Voters will need to present a valid ID in order to cast a ballot. Friday's voting will be followed by the annual beach meeting, during which the budget for the upcoming year will be set. Click here for the warrant and details on the budget and candidates.

3. U.S. Senator Reading to Local Students Today: U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will visit Seabrook Elementary School from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. to read a story to third and fourth graders as part of an assembly in celebration of Read Across America.
4. What Else Is Happening Today? The annual Crimeline for the Hamptons' fun-filled 10-day fundraiser at the Poker Room continues through this weekend. Speaking of the Crimeline, the nonprofit group is looking for applicants for its annual scholarship program.
Also, representatives from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges recently came to Winnacunnet High School to perform the much-awaited accreditation of the school.
Principal Bill McGowan said it was a "very pleasant experience," and said the school expects to receive the final report and decision "sometime in August or September."
The accreditation has led to much speculation and discussion over the past couple of years, particularly during talks about yearlong core courses.
