Governor Commends Hampton Safety Officers for Jetty Rescue

Hampton Police, Fire recognized for essential role at Hampton Beach.

Gov. Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council on July 24 recognized Hampton Police Officers Robert Turcotte and Andrew Jowett Turcotte and Hampton Fire Rescue for rescuing three individuals May 1 off the jetty at Hampton Beach.

The official commendation for Hampton Emergency Services personnel reads as following:

WHEREAS, Hampton Beach State Park is one of New Hampshire’s many extraordinary attractions bringing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the New Hampshire Seacoast; and

WHEREAS, The State of New Hampshire, through its Division of Parks and Recreation, has a strong and productive working relationship with the Town of Hampton to provide the best possible experience for these visitors; and

WHEREAS, The Hampton Police Department and the Fire and Rescue Department play an essential role in maintaining peace and order and in protecting the health and safety of these visitors; and

WHEREAS, The State wishes to specifically recognize the support and actions of Hampton Police Officers Robert Turcotte and Officer Andrew Jowett Turcotte and Hampton Fire Rescue personnel in the rescue of three individuals on May 1st, 2013;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARGARET WOOD HASSAN, GOVERNOR of the State of New Hampshire, and the Executive Council, do hereby wish to thank and commend the TOWN OF HAMPTON EMERGENCY SERVICES PERSONNEL for their actions on May 1st, 2013 and for their outstanding support at the beach throughout the year.
