Governor Hassan Getting High Marks From NH Residents

Most New Hampshire adults also approve of the job the state Legislature is doing.

Gov. Maggie Hassan's popularity remains high here in New Hampshire, according to a recent University of New Hampshire/WMUR poll.

The Granite State Poll, released last week, shows that 57 percent of New Hampshire adults approve of the job Hassan is doing as governor. Only 14 percent disapprove, and 30 percent are neutral or don't know enough to say.

Hassan, a Democrat, is up for re-election in 2014 but so far has no serious Republican challenger.

A majority of New Hampshire residents also approve of the job the Democrat-led New Hampshire Legislature is doing.

Fifty-three percent of New Hampshire adults say they approve of how the Legislature is doing its job, 23 percent disapprove and 25 percent are neutral or don’t know enough to say.
