Hampton Beach Brought to Tears by Highly-Emotional Display
Hundreds marched or gathered along Hampton Beach Monday to pay tribute to a brave group of individuals.

McGuirk's Ocean View annually holds a bagpipe parade along Ocean Boulevard and K Street in order to raise money for the families of the six firefighters killed in 1999 during a massive fire in Worcester, Mass.
Firefighter Joseph McGuirk, one of the many members of the local McGuirk clan, was among that group of firefighters. They perished while attempting to rescue two individuals they believed were trapped inside the Worcester Cold Storage and Warehouse Co. building, which was engulfed by an "inferno."
This year's parade was Monday evening and featured firefighters and law enforcement officials from throughout New England, just as it does every year. The above video is from a previous year's parade, which raised roughly $100,000.
Here's what some people on Facebook had to say about the annual parade:
- Hampton Beach: This a great tradition for McGuirks and the Fire Fighters, if you have family whom are Fire Fighters or you are friends of a Fire Department ,please go see the them March and playing of the pipes in respect to the Worcester Fire fighters whom lost their lives to save others. Very moving.
- Terry Mason: Oh my goodness - wow. I can't believe I never made the connection with the name McGuirk's. I watched that whole thing unfold - and cried many tears for all the lives lost. My brother is a firefighter in Gardner, MA so this hit us all hard. I truly wish I could be there on Monday - ironically I will be in Hampton the following Monday. God Bless you - and thanks for sharing this video.
