Several years from now Hampton Beach will host a summit of world leaders and there a UNH biologist will unveil his history altering discovery: an abundant and unending, world-wide food supply. At least that’s what’s supposed to happen. A team of assassins from the future is stalking the scientist, intent on silencing him before he can make his announcement. Three 12-year olds from Hampton – Mike Castleton, Nick Pope, and Patrick Weaver – are recruited by their principal, their social studies teacher, and the lunch lady to prevent the murder. The adults are from the future too, and have hidden themselves in the present by posing as school officials.
That is how The Hampton Summit begins, the first novel in the eight-book Castleton Series by Hampton author, Mike Dunbar. The second and third volumes in the series (The Lost Crew and The End of Time) also have been published. All three books are available as paperbacks through local books stores and as eBooks from on-line book sellers such as amazon.com. The remaining five books in the series have been written and are being published at three month intervals. The series is illustrated by Kingston artist and teacher Sara Santaniello.

After being recruited, the three Hampton boys travel forward in time to be trained at the Time Institute, part of UNH. There, they befriend a three-girl time crew. In the following books the two crews’ continuing adventures take them from the beginning of human history to its end. In every novel the young crews experience time paradoxes that mess with their minds and with the reader’s mind. The adventure series for young teens (and adults that are young at heart) takes place in actual locations in Hampton, Portsmouth, Durham, and throughout New Hampshire.
The Castleton Series is published by Soul Star Publishing, an independent house based in Utah. Mike Dunbar began writing professionally at 19. He is the author of seven earlier books and has published more magazine articles than he count.
