Vote on Beach District Budget, Candidates Fri.

Here's what you need to know about the candidates and budget on Friday's annual ballot.

Hampton Beach Village District residents will be asked Friday to approve a district budget that is $20,099 or 3.94 percent less than the current year's budget.

The proposed budget, which covers entertainment and marketing costs, among other things, is $490,600. The budget was $510,699 last year because Hampton Beach Village District Precinct commissioners added funds to enhance the annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition, and because residents to cover the costs of a major event.

Voting on the budget will be conducted during the annual meeting, which is at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hampton Beach fire station. The meeting follows the annual beach district elections, the polling for which is from 1 to 7 p.m. at the beach fire station.
