Hampton Death Was Homicide

Police have announced that Saturday's suspicious death in Hampton was a homicide.

HAMPTON, NH — The Attorney General's Office has announced that the suspicious death reported in Hampton on Saturday was a homicide. Juan Astacio, 34, was found unconscious in his apartment in Hampton after police responded there due to a 911 call. According to the AG's office, Astacio had obvious injuries. He was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead. On Monday afternoon the AG's office, the Hampton Police Department and the State Police announced that his death was ruled a homicide.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Astacio's body on Monday. The exact cause of his death is not being released at this time, pending further investigation, the AG's office stated. Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to call the New Hampshire State Police at 603-223-4381.
