Lack of Remorse Ups Sentence for Poker Room Armed Robber

Bryan Lisio, 26, of Hampton, has received longer jail time for his brutal attack due to a lack of remorse.

Roughly two months after a judge rejected a plea deal that would've reduced his jail time, Bryan Lisio has been sentenced to 4 to 8 years in state prison for beating and robbing a 64-year-old man outside The Poker Room in Hampton Falls, according to the Union Leader.

Lisio, 26, of Hampton, was originally charged with one count of felony armed robbery and two counts of second-degree assault after allegedly waiting in the parking lot of The Poker Room as his 64-year-old victim got out of his car on Jan. 31.

Armed with a handgun that later turned out to be a BB gun, Lisio attacked the man, beating him over the head, strangling him, and demanding money, police have said. Lisio then took $80 that the man had in his wallet.

Lisio fractured the other man’s orbital bone and applied "pressure" to his "throat or neck area" during the robbery. Police have said that he later bragged about the crime to a friend at a local bar.

Lisio was indicted on two Class A felony counts of armed robbery, and one Class B felony count each of unarmed robbery, second-degree assault with bodily injury, and second-degree assault (strangulation).

The Union Leader has reported that he was sentenced Monday, though, on one robbery charge and two counts of second-degree assault. The paper has also reported that the judge rejected the original plea deal because Lisio was remorseless about his crimes and because the judge wanted a sentence that took the nature of crimes into account.

Court staff told Patch that Lisio also received two suspended 3 1/2-to-7 year prison sentences as part of Monday's sentencing. The suspended sentences can be imposed consecutively if Lisio violates the terms of his parole.
