How Many Hampton Residents are Jobless?
The state has released local labor statistics, so here's an economic snapshot at the area.

New Hampshire's unemployment rate held about steady in June, the most recent month's data available, at 5.2 percent. In Hampton, an estimated 540 people out of a workforce of 9,570 are unemployed, or 5.3 percent, according to the New Hampshire Employment Security, Economic and Labor Market Information Bureau.
The local labor statistics were released by the state last week.
The U.S. added approximately 162,000 jobs in July, as the national unemployment rate dropped from 7.6 percent in June to 7.4 percent in July.
New Hampshire added 250 jobs from May to June, while the number of unemployed residents fell by 1,400 over that time to 38,290.
