1. Today's Top Thing: Today is National Police Officers Memorial Day, and local individuals are expected to be on hand for a variety of events to commemorate the day. Gov. Maggie Hassan has ordered all flags to fly at half-staff today.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? The Winnacunnet School Board will meet at 7 p.m. at WHS.
Also, a vote is expected on the controversial casino bill, about which an iconic local concert hall has voiced displeasure, the Hampton and North Hampton town clerk's offices will be closed all day in order for staff to attend annual state training, Hampton School District schools have an early release day today, Lane Memorial Library will host a free showing of "North by Northwest" at 1 p.m., the American Red Cross' Bloodmobile will collect blood in the WHS gymnasium between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of a National Honor Society- and WHS Health Office-sponsored event, and the Crimeline for the Hamptons' deadline for scholarship essays is today.
4. This Day in History: On this day in 1937, Madeleine Albright, America's first female secretary of state, was born Maria Jana Korbelova in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).
