Hundreds of children will run and laugh their way across the sands of Hampton Beach Thursday afternoon as part of one of the most popular portions of the annual Children's Festival.
Free kites will be handed out to children at 3 p.m. near the Seashell Stage, and soon after the sky will be speckled with a variety of colorful high-flying designs.
Individuals have called past years' kite flyings a "splendid" way to "bring a community together," and a large turnout is expected again this year.
