Monday Essentials: 'I Have a Dream'
Plenty of first days, a big pig roast, and a huge celebration in honor of a momentous anniversary highlight the week ahead.

Happy Monday, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five important things coming up this week:
1. Wednesday is the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech, and there are many things happening throughout the state and nation to mark a big day in the nation's history.
For instance, the University of New Hampshire will celebrate with an open public march from the Memorial Union Building to the Great Hall Lawn at 2 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a re-reading of the speech.
2. This week is the first week of school for local students. Click here to check out the new bus routes, read about some of the new teachers, and get an update about school construction progress.
3. One of this week's can't-miss events is the Hampton Historical Southern-Style Society Pig Roast.
4. Hampton and North Hampton selectmen will each meet Monday to discuss a variety of subjects. Both sessions start at 7 p.m. at the towns' respective town halls.
