Multiple Agencies Respond To Suspicious Package In Salisbury

Agencies including FBI and the bomb squad responded after a report of suspicious package in Salisbury. A home was evacuated.

SALISBURY, NH — Multiple agencies including the bomb squad were in Salisbury Monday after a report of a suspicious package being found. According to Salisbury police, the package by a resident in a Main Street home near the state line. The home was evacuated and the occupants were medically evaluated, but no threat was determined, police say. Main Street was closed to traffic for some time.

Salisbury police received a report of the suspicious package around 1:38 p.m. Monday. Out of "abundance of caution," they conducted interviews, evacuated the home and called for additional resources. Among agencies that responded to the scene to assist with the investigation were: Salisbury Fire Department, Department of Fire Services Hazardous Materials Response Team, Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlantic Ambulance Service, Seabrook Police Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The package was evaluated and was determined to not be a threat, according to Salisbury police. No public threat has been discovered. Police say at this time, it is unknown whether the incident is related to similar incidents that have occurred in Massachusetts communities of Malden and Woburn.
