West Nile Virus was recently found in mosquitoes in a nearby Seacoast town, according to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
Two batches of mosquitoes in Stratham tested positive for the disease, which can be deadly to humans.
Neighboring towns, including Exeter, are testing catch basins and known mosquito hotspots. No mosquitoes were found with West Nile Virus in Hampton or North Hampton as of Tuesday night.
