White House Officials, Shea-Porter in Hampton Monday
A special session is coming Monday to help identify vulnerable parts of Seacoast New Hampshire's infrastructure.

On Monday, August 19th, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, will join U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Representative Carol Shea-Porter, and local officials to discuss the impacts of climate change on New Hampshire’s communities and economy.
In the morning, Chair Sutley will join Senator Shaheen, Commissioner Jeff Rose of the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development, and local business and environmental leaders in Manchester for an event hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anselm College on how climate change is impacting New Hampshire businesses and communities. Chair Sutley will highlight President Obama’s Climate Action Plan to reduce carbon pollution, move our economy towards American-made clean energy sources, and help communities like Manchester prepare for the impacts of climate change.
In the afternoon, Chair Sutley will join Representative Shea-Porter in Hampton to learn how the town is using the latest science and data to map projected climate change impacts and identify vulnerable infrastructure. The tour will begin with a briefing at the Hampton Town Office with the New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup, and proceed to the Hampton Fire & Rescue dock to view tide gauge equipment that is critical to mapping storm surges and sea level rise.
