Parks and Public Areas to Be Off Limits Tonight
An annual activity will shut down parts of town.

Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Monday, April 8:
1. The Best Kind of Money: That would be the kind that's given to you unexpectedly, which is exactly what North Hampton selectmen will discuss — and approve — at 7 p.m. to continue the Little River watershed bacteria testing progress.

2. Important Notice: Expect parts of North Hampton to be closed off due to the town's annual mosquito spraying.
3. What Else Is Happening Today? The Hampton Board of Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at Hampton Town Hall, the Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Winnacunnet High School, and eighth grade students at North Hampton School leave on their annual field trip to New York City today.

4. This Day in History: On this day in 1974, Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves hit his 715th career home run, breaking Babe Ruth's legendary record of 714 homers.
A crowd of 53,775 people, the largest in the history of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, was with Aaron that night to cheer when he hit a fourth inning pitch off the Los Angeles Dodgers' Al Downing.
However, as Aaron was an African American who had received death threats and racist hate mail during his pursuit of one of baseball's most distinguished records, the achievement was bittersweet.
5. Today's Forecast:
Day
Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.Night
A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.
