Special Education Action Plan Could be Unveiled Tonight
Few details about what the plan might entail are unknown because district officials haven't been reachable.

Good morning, Hampton and North Hampton. Here are five things you need to know for Thursday, April 18:
1. Today's Top Thing: The North Hampton School Board is expected to discuss the district's plan for improving the special education program during its 7 p.m. meeting at the school.

School Administrative Unit 21 officials haven't yet disclosed details about the future of the program or the status of current staff. Both NHS Principal Peter Sweet and Assistant Superintendent Barbara Hopkins have been unreachable over the past couple of weeks, save for two days where Hopkins declined comment to Hampton-North Hampton Patch due to a lack of time to speak.
Messages left by Patch with Superintendent Bob Sullivan haven't been returned.

3. What Else Is Happening Today? Lane Memorial Library is hosting a free showing of the award-winning film "Lincoln" at 5:30 p.m.
Also, there's a second grade concert at Centre School tonight, a special event at the Poker Room tonight coincides with the 10-day fundraiser for the Friends of Winnacunnet Foundation, and there's a free all-ages drum class at Music Makers.
4. This Day in History: At 5:13 a.m. on this day in 1906, an earthquake estimated at close to 8.0 on the Richter scale struck San Francisco, Calif., killing hundreds of people as it toppled numerous buildings.
The quake was caused by a slip of the San Andreas Fault over a segment about 275 miles long, and shock waves were felt from southern Oregon down to Los Angeles.
