Stay Clear of Hampton-Area Beaches, Warns Coast Guard

In the wake of a gale-force winter weather warning, officials are also using fishermen and boaters to use caution.

The U.S. Coast Guard is urging Seacoast-area boaters to take caution Wednesday because Tuesday's winter storm conditions — which left thousands powerless — could still cause safety problems for boaters at sea and secured vessels, according to the Union Leader.

The Union Leader also reported that residents and visitors should stay away from area beaches, overlooks and jetties because they may be unsafe due to high waves and strong currents made more severe by the storm.
