Townwide Weekend Gala More Than Just Fun, History

A big three-day celebration leads a weekend packed with all sorts of free and family-friendly activities.

Looking for something fun to do on the Seacoast this weekend? Here are some ideas (and be sure to tell us about the things you did and show us the pictures you took by posting on Patch or by e-mailing Kyle Stucker at Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com):

1. Thousands are expected to visit Hampton on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a wide variety of free, fun and family-friendly activities for the town's 375th anniversary celebration.

Outdoor food and gift vendors, live music and entertainment, a 100-vehicle antique car show, the unveiling of a restored piece of history, public officials in dunk tanks, live war reenactments, an outdoor movie and a police-firefighter softball game are just some of the festivities planned.

3. Wherefore art thou Romeo and/or Juliet this weekend? Take your significant other down to Portsmouth's Prescott Park Sunday afternoon for a rendition of "Romeo and Juliet" as part of the popular "Shakespeare in Prescott Park" series.
