Voters Up Beach Disrict Budget at Annual Meeting

A small change was made to the Hampton Beach Village District's budget following the annual elections.

Five thousand dollars was added to the Hampton Beach Village District's budget Friday during the annual budget meeting, which followed the annual district elections at the Hampton Beach fire station.

Voters passed a $495,600 budget, which is $5,000 more than the proposed budget and $15,099 less than the current year. Commissioner Chuck Rage made the motion to add $5,000 to the culture and recreation budget to allow commissioners to support a proposal for Blue Ocean Society to occupy the vacated state retail store within the Seashell Complex, village district officials told Patch.

None of Friday's Hampton Beach Village District Precinct races were contested. Rage was reelected as a commissioner, Steve LaBranche was reelected as treasurer, Richard Reniere was reelected as moderator, Janet Allard was reelection as clerk, and Joann Kivlan was reelected as supervisor of the checklist.
