1 Dead in NH Fire

The blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

UPDATE, 9:45 a.m.: Manchester Police have issued a press release on this morning's fatal fire on Joliette Street.

Police said the 3-alarm blaze caused "substantial damage to the structure" and temporarily displaced eight people from the apartment building. The initial investigation reveals no foul play, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The dead man has been positively identified, but his name won't be released until next of kin have been notified. Police also said that the woman who was unaccounted for "has been identified, located and is safe."

A man is dead and a woman missing following an early-morning fire in Manchester, according to WMUR-TV.

The 3-alarm fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at 169 Joliette St., according to emergency radio broadcasts. Heavy smoke was reportedly showing from the 3-story apartment building.

Firefighters are still trying to locate the decased man's girlfriend, but they don't think she was in the building when the fire broke out. Seven other people who lived in the apartment building were displaced by the fire, including two children.
