Sports have a way of teaching invaluable life lessons — building character, fostering teamwork and strengthening the bonds within a community. In the Londonderry area, these values have shaped some truly remarkable athletes from different eras, whose accomplishments continue to inspire.

Patch has teamed up with T-Mobile to spotlight five standout athletes whose achievements have left a lasting mark on our community. While this list is just a snapshot, there are countless others who have helped shape the rich sports culture in our area.


1. Ryan Griffin (Football)

Ryan Griffin, a Londonderry High School graduate, is a professional football player. After making a name for himself at the University of Connecticut, he went on to play as a tight end for the Houston Texans, the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears in the NFL. His journey from Londonderry to the NFL highlights the town's contribution to professional sports.

2. Brian Wilson (Baseball)

Brian Wilson, a Londonderry High School alumnus, is a former professional baseball pitcher. Wilson pitched for three seasons at Louisiana State University, stepping down to recover from an elbow injury. He then went to the major leagues, starting with the San Francisco Giants and ending with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was a key player in the Giants' 2010 World Series championship team, earning a reputation for his dynamic pitching and distinctive persona.


3. Tricia Dunn-Luoma (Ice Hockey)

Tricia Dunn-Luoma, born in nearby Derry, is a former professional ice hockey player. After graduating from Pinkerton Academy, she played as a forward for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats and the Minnesota Whitecaps. Dunn-Luoma went on to win a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics, a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

4. Driss Dallahi (Cheerleading)

Driss Dallahi, a Londonderry High School alumnus, made history as the first male cheerleader for the New England Patriots in 2019. His achievement has been a source of pride for Londonderry, showcasing the town's support for diverse athletic pursuits. Outside of cheering for the Patriots, Dallahi works as a senior benefits analyst.


5. Aliza Simpson (Basketball)

Aliza Simpson, a 2014 graduate of Londonderry High School, is a former basketball player who earned the title of Miss New Hampshire in 2013 and was named New Hampshire Gatorade and NHIAA Player of the Year. She led Londonderry to a state championship and later played for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, contributing to the university's women's basketball program.
