Lady Lancers Wallop Warriors

Here are five things you should know today in Londonderry.

1. Seven up. The Londonderry High School girls tennis team, which finished the regular season with an 13-1 record to garner the Division I No. 2 seed, hosted and defeated seventh-ranked Winnacunnet, 7-2, in Wednesday's opening round. The Lady Lancers face the winner of the Bedford/Derryfield matchup. The semifinal contest is currently scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m.

2. Lancers' Lineup. The fifth-seeded Londonderry boys tennis team, which treked to Keene Tuesday and upset the Owls in the first round of the Division I tournament, now must travel to Bedford to face the top-seeded undefeated Bulldogs in the state semifinals at 4 p.m. Here is today's LHS sports schedule, (obtained from HighSchoolSports.net):

3. The weatherman says .... more scattered thunderstorms, but an otherwise beautiful day as temperatures are once again expected to rise into the low 80s. According to Weather.com, there is a 40-percent chance of rain today, with the chances of thunderstorms increasing to 80 percent tonight.
