Lancers Live to Fight Another Day

1. Road warriors. The Londonderry High School boys tennis team, which finished the regular season with an 11-3 record to garner the Division I fifth seed, traveled to Keene to open the playoffs yesterday. There, the Lancers, well... lanced the Owls, earning a 5-3 (play was suspended on the final doubles match due to thunder) triumph to advance to the state semifinals. That's the good news. The bad news is that LHS must now trek to Bedford to face the undefeated Bulldogs. The Lancers hosted Bedford on May 10 and fell, 6-3. That was the tightest matchup of the season for BHS. First serve on the tourney tussle is scheduled for 4 p.m. this Thursday.

2. Lancers' Lineup. The Londonderry girls tennis team looks to follow in the footsteps of their male counterparts and earn a first-round victory. The second-seeded Lady Lancers open tournament play at home at 4 p.m. today against No. 7 Winnacunnet. Here is today's LHS sports schedule, (obtained from HighSchoolSports.net):
