Teens Arrested On Assault Charges After Riot At Gammon Academy
Two teens face riot, assault charges, with one teen accused of biting a staffer at the Easter Seals facility on Zachary Road in Manchester.
MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police, fire, and AMR ambulance responded to Easter Seals Gammon Academy on Zachary Road for a report of an assault on Monday.
Manchester police learned, at just before 4 p.m., that three juveniles had gotten into a physical altercation. When a staff member tried to separate them, she was bitten on the arm and pushed to the ground.

"She was then kicked in the head several times and began to blackout," said Heather Hamel, a spokeswoman for the department. "Another staff member was able to pull her up and get her away from the group."
According to radio traffic, the female staff member was suffering from multiple injuries from the assault. She was transported to the Elliot Hospital for treatment according to police.

A 16-year-old resident was charged with simple assault and a 17-year-old was charged with second-degree Assault. Both will also be charged with riot for engaging in the altercation. They were removed from the facility pending a hearing, according to police.
Easter Seals Gammon Academy provides Group therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, and Trauma therapy. It specializes in the treatment of Young adults and adolescents.
The Gammon Academy Zachary Road also supports Children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, Persons who have experienced trauma, and Persons with serious mental illness.
