​Two Charged With Drug Possession In Manchester Thursday

Two people were arrested between midnight and 3:30 a.m. on Thursday after they were found with drugs, police said.

MANCHESTER, NH — Two people were arrested early Thursday morning in Manchester after being found with illegal drugs, police said in a news release.

According to the release, officers were patrolling near the area of Manchester Street and Beech Street for illegal drug activity when they found a woman they said appeared to be preparing to use drugs.

When officers approached the woman, she hid something under a nearby staircase that police said was found to be Crack Cocaine and Heroin/Fentanyl.

Cecelia Chicoine, 35, of Manchester was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug, police said.

Police said later, around 3:30 a.m., officers were patrolling near Walnut Street and Orange Street when they stopped a man for a traffic offense.

The man, 31-year-old Joshua Scott of Manchester, had a cylindrical item in his pocket that police said was found to be a needle.

When Scott was searched, Heroin/Fentanyl was found in his sock, police said. Scott was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug.

Both people were released on personal recognizance bonds with yet-to-be-determined court dates.
