Two People Injured During Charity Motorcycle Ride In Manchester

At the Rolling Thunder New Hampshire event, 2 were injured in a 3-vehicle accident; an investigation is underway on Maple Street.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester fire, police, and AMR ambulance responded to a call for a multi-vehicle accident at Maple and Somerville streets on Saturday.

When crews arrived, shortly after noontime, they found a heavily damaged motorcycle and two passenger cars that were also involved in the accident. A second AMR ambulance was requested for the two injured people who were on the motorcycle.

A man and a woman from the motorcycle were transported to the hospital with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle was part of an organized charity ride and the group was being escorted by Manchester police and New Hampshire State Police. The group was primarily made up of the Rolling Thunder New Hampshire motorcycle group members who were riding to raise funds for the Crusin’ 4 Critters ride to benefit the Manchester Animal Shelter. A member of the group said they were only blocks away from the final destination at the Sweeney Post VFW where the donations were being collected.

A member of the group said that both people from the motorcycle were conscious and breathing but had several injuries. Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

Maple Street was closed to traffic for several hours as the accident was investigated by the Manchester Police Traffic Division.
