- City aldermen banned shopping carts and multiple bicycles in city parks in a vote on Tuesday. The amendment prohibits "tarps, 'market umbrellas', beach umbrellas, structures and shopping carts in parks." "There can also only be one bicycle per person in city parks without permission from the Public Works Department Director." Some aldermen said the move was to prevent homeless camps in city parks, after aldermen said constituents and elderly residents "had become afraid to go to the park." Brandon Lemay criticized the board, saying the move "is not solving any issue." (Manchester Ink Link)
- A tow-truck operator opened the door of a stolen U-Haul truck in Manchester and was surprised to find people living inside. Someone reported that the vehicle "had been parked on Central Street for several days." The people living inside took their belongings and moved them to Elm Street outside Veterans Park. On Saturday, Oct. 22., Sandler, who grew up in Manchester, will bring his unique style of comedy and song back to his hometown, with a surprise guest. Sandler has "performed in the U.S. and Canada to sold-out shows." The performance Saturday is for mature audiences only. (SNHU Arena)
