  1. Can you help identify the person who took two piping plover eggs from a protected nest on Hampton Beach this past weekend? The rare tiny shore birds are on the endangered species list. Two eggs were taken from the nest sometime between Friday night, July 15, and Saturday morning, July 16, N.H. Fish and Game official said. The eggs were just about to hatch and are not expected to survive. Investigators documented footprints in the roped-off area coming from the Hampton Beach sea wall to the nest, across from Ron’s Landing Restaurant. "Harming, harassing, injuring and killing of piping plovers are illegal with penalties, including time in prison and steep fines," said Mike Marchand, nongame and endangered wildlife program supervisor. "It's a shame. They were so close to hatching." If you have any information, contact N.H. Fish and Game. (The Union Leader)
  2. If you sing and want to bring joy to the world with your voice, The Manchester Choral Society is holding auditions at an Open Sing on Sept. 12. The MCS welcomes new and returning singers for Season 62. The first rehearsal will be an Open Sing on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at the Bethany Covenant Church Pavilion in Bedford. 3. A Voter Confidence panel was held in the state's second largest city on Monday, and both Democratic and Republican leaders agreed that the state’s elections are fair and accurate. But the two sides had "wildly different" views on voting solutions. Democratic leaders want to make it easier to vote by allowing no-excuse voting by absentee ballot, voter registration at public buildings, and more secure ballot drop off locations, and accused Republicans of trying to suppress the vote in past elections by making false claims "that Democrat Jeanne Shaheen only became governor thanks to 'busloads of voters' coming here from Massachusetts." Republican leaders said it's a myth that Republicans are trying to suppress the vote, and called for stricter voting regulations.
