- A high heat advisory is in place for Manchester on Thursday. You can expect high heat, humidity, and temperatures reaching almost 100 degrees. Check on neighbors, friends and relatives who are vulnerable to extremely hot weather, including young children, adults over 65, anyone with chronic medical conditions, and pregnant women. Officials note, "It's never safe to leave a child, disabled individual, or pet locked in a car," even in your own driveway! Stay in air conditioning as much as possible and drink water to stay hydrated. Manchester is offering several free cooling stations around the city, including at the Manchester Public Library. - If you fly Spirit Airlines from the Manchester-Boston airport, you may soon be flying Jet Blue. Last week Spirit Airlines agreed to a $3.8 million buyout offer from Jet Blue that would create the fifth-largest airline in the U.S. The Manchester-Boston Regional Airport has been trying to get Jet Blue to offer flights from the Manchester-Boston airport "for more than two decades." According to Airport Director Ted Kitchens, "it is too early to tell" what impact the merger will have but noted that Spirit Airlines has expanded flights and added new routes to a number of new locations. - "Finding Sandler" will have its New England premiere on Aug. 13 at The Rex Theater in Manchester. “Finding Sandler” is an independent film by New York filmmaker David Seth Cohen that has been "years in the making." The documentary started with a chance meeting with Adam Sandler as a young production assistant. The film is about Cohen's regrets, chasing his dreams, and taking a leap of faith, as he interviews "mostly friends and family" to create a documentary from his personal point of view.
