Here are the top three stories in Manchester today:

  1. A jury convicted a man of interstate car theft and kidnapping a woman and her son outside a New Hampshire mall. The 45-year-old man left a Vermont drug treatment center and stole a parked van from a nearby driveway and drove it to Manchester, where it was abandoned the next day before he drove to Vermont with the alleged victim and her son in her car. (My Champlain Valley)
  2. The Parental Bill of Rights would give Manchester parents the legal authority to obtain information regarding their child's gender identity. Supporters of the bill believe it will allow them insight into the happenings of their child's lives. However, those opposed believe the bill unfairly targets transgender youth. (WMUR)
  3. Property tax relief has been denied to nine hospitality businesses in New Hampshire that argued that their mandated closures at the beginning of the pandemic entitled them to such relief. Two of the businesses located in Manchester each received over $1.1 million in federal assistance. (NHBR)
