Here are the top 3 stories today in Manchester:

  1. Two New Hampshire men have been arrested in a multi-million dollar money laundering operation. Shi Rong Zhang and Qiu Fang Zheng of Windham were part of a large-scale drug money laundering ring, according to the Department of Justice. Shi Rong Zhang, 48, and Qiu Fang Zheng, 59, allegedly "laundered tens of millions of dollars" in drug trafficking profits at the family-owned China Gourmet restaurant in Boston. In March, FBI agents said they found cash "stashed under piles of frozen meat products." The suspects also reportedly made "tens of millions of dollars" in wire transfers by sending Apps products overseas using stolen gift cards. (WMUR)
  2. Hikers found an unresponsive man on a Mount Washing Trail Saturday afternoon. Good Samaritans performed CPR for 40 minutes in freezing temperatures and harsh winds but were unable to revive him. A volunteer rescue team carried the body a mile down the Jewell Trail to the Cog Railway that transported the man to the base of the mountain. The hiker's dog was taken to a local animal shelter until his family can be reached. (WMUR)
  3. New Hampshire legislators Chris Pappas and Annie Kuster voted to support the Assault Weapons Ban Act. The bill "would make it a crime to knowingly import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon (SAW) or large capacity ammunition feeding device (LCAFD), excluding grandfathered SAWs and LCAFDs," but it's not expected to pass in the Senate. Representative Chris Pappas (D-NH) said, “We are not powerless to do something about the senseless gun violence and mass shootings we see all across our country.” Representative Annie Kuster (D-NH) noted, “We can and must prevent gun violence while protecting the rights of responsible gun owners."
