  1. A shout out to Bill Burke, the first Manchester's Park Ranger. Burke was hired under a new program this summer to help keep Manchester's public parks and trails safe and clean. People, like Bonnie Cote, and the many other people he interacts with every day, know him as "the king of the parks.” He supervises a team of three newly hired park rangers who promote responsible enjoyment of Manchester's parks and trails and help prevent illicit activity. Rangers have many other jobs, like picking up trash, enforcing curfews, and locking up public restrooms — just to name a few. It sounds like a win for the citizens of this fair city. Welcome, Rangers! (Subscription/The Union Leader)
  2. Classic cars, hot rods, and perfectly maintained antique cars will be in full view at the Manchester Rotary Club's 21st Anniversary Cruising Downtown classic car show this weekend. On Saturday, Sept. 4, stroll by classic cars displayed along Elm Street. The popular car show will also feature live entertainment, food, and vendors. You can also enjoy the many downtown Manchester restaurants and shops. You can register an antique or classic car for the show, and find out more about the event here: (Cruising Downtown Manchester)
  3. The Red Arrow Dinner has big news — they are celebrating 100 years of burgers, beans, and bacon! Can you believe that the Red Arrow Diner in Manchester has been serving burgers, beans, bacon, and breakfast in Manchester since 1922? The famous local hot spot tucked away on Lowell Street was founded in 1922 by David Lamontagne. The compact L-shaped dining room "has just enough space for five booths and 16 bar stools." "It’s the kind of place where your coffee cup won’t stay empty for long," wrote the Union Leader's Mike Cote. The Red Arrow Diner is open 24 hours for burgers and sandwiches, and everyone's Red Arrow favorite: breakfast! (Subscription/The Union Leader)
