Here are the top 3 stories in Manchester today:
- An airplane built by high school students at the Manchester School of Technology is ready to take off from the Manchester-Boston regional airport. After several years of delays, a student-built Van’s RV-12iS two-seat light sport airplane passed ten hours of flight testing and has been cleared for takeoff. The plane's first public flight will be on Saturday. Bob Hough, the Aviation Museum board member who spearheaded the plane-building program in partnership with Tango Flight, an educational nonprofit, said the test pilot was in the air when he called him from the cockpit and said, "Bob, you have an airplane." - In a post shared more than 1,000 times, a WMUR New Hampshire "u local" group member is hoping to find the owner of a pair of rings found at Hampton Beach. Bob Perry posted a photo of the ring set Monday, and said he believes the rings are old "based on the style, wear, engraving and a date that was found on the inside." He guessed that they might belong to someone's grandmother. The post has been shared more than 1,000 times. (WMUR)
- Have earthquakes been more active in New Hampshire in 2022? At least five earthquakes have already been reported in New Hampshire this year, but scientist Dr. Alan Kafka, director of Weston Observatory, told WMUR, “It’s nothing unusual.” He said, "about a dozen earthquakes with at least a 2.0-magnitude strength" were detected in the Granite State since 2020.
