Here are the top stories in Manchester today:
- Sea levels are rising, and scientists have a new tool to see what areas of New Hampshire's seacoast may soon be under water. Using the latest data from melting ice sheets and warming water, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said there could be an additional one to one-and-a-half feet of sea level rise by the year 2050." That's on top of the foot of sea level rise already seen over the past hundred years," they noted. NOAA's interactive tool shows the impact of rising seas. "The new tool can show how the land around Rye Harbor, for example, would be impacted with one foot of sea level rise or two feet of sea level rise." (WMUR)
- Police are investigating a "suspicious death" in Manchester. The attorney general's office said Friday that they are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Manchester in the area of a walking trail near Nutt's pond. The trail was closed, and people were asked to stay out of the area. Few details were available, but police said there was no danger to the public. (WMUR)
- Check out "Cruising Downtown," the classic car show along Elm Street in Manchester on Saturday, Sept. 3. The antique and hot rod car show will feature live entertainment, food and vendors. There will also be awards in several categories. Parking will be available near the event, and visitors can also stroll along Elm Street and enjoy Downtown Manchester’s dining and shopping area. The 21st Anniversary Cruising Downtown classic car show is presented by the Manchester Rotary Club. All proceeds benefit area nonprofits! (Cruising Downtown Manchester)
That's it for today. I'll see you around!
