Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. A'"farm stand on wheels" is on a quest to bring farm fresh food to local neighborhoods. Molly Stark, who works at the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success, brings "a van filled with berries, corn and so much more" to neighborhoods in Manchester that have little access to locally grown produce. Being consistent, Stark says, is key. The "farm stand on wheels" run by the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success, was launched in Manchester in 2019, and now has stops in Nashua and Concord. (NHPR)
  2. Former students of a private Manchester college may have their student loans canceled. Former students of Mount Washington College in Manchester, formerly Hesser College, with locations in several New Hampshire cities, may have their debt wiped out. The now-defunct college closed in 2016 "after sharp declines in enrollment." The for-profit college industry student who received federal government student loans has been under scrutiny for more than a decade. The Obama administration imposed regulations on for-profit colleges and began forgiving federal loans for students who attended financially troubled schools, but "the process ground to a halt during the Trump administration," officials said.(Subscription/The Union Leader)
  3. Police are investigating after finding a dead body floating in Nutt's Pond in Manchester. The man was found in the Manchester pond Tuesday morning, police said. Authorities said it was an "untimely death," and said he was found in the water at 9:10 a.m. Manchester police, the New Hampshire Marine Patrol, Manchester Fire, and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner did not allow visitors near the pond and were investigating Precourt Park, at the northern end of the pond just off South Willow Street. Police did not say where the body was found. Homeless people often camp in the area, near the edge of the pond. (Subscription/The Union Leader)
