Here are the top three stories in Manchester today:

  1. In Manchester, the "Transit to Trails" program is back for its second year, offering free transportation to residents from downtown Manchester to trails, state parks, and water destinations on the first Saturday of each month from June through October. This initiative aims to expand outdoor recreation access and break down barriers for people who live in and around urban areas. Trips depart from the Manchester Transit Authority Information Center at Veteran’s Memorial Park and offer a variety of outdoor activities, including sandy lakeside beaches, hiking trails, popular birding areas, and more. (New Hampshire Bulletin)
  2. A fundraising breakfast was hosted in Manchester on Thursday by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire to fulfill the dreams of children facing serious illnesses. The non-profit organization grants the wishes of these children, but fulfilling them can be costly, with expenses ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 based on each experience. Donna Parker, the Vice President of Development at Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, highlighted the organization's commitment to making these dreams a reality. (WMUR 9)
  3. June Trisciani, a fourth-generation Manchester native, small business owner, and Alderman At-Large, has announced strong support from community leaders for her mayoral campaign. Trisciani has expressed gratitude for the uptick in local support. Her Kitchen Cabinet comprises representatives from each of the city's 12 wards, and Trisciani believes that her leadership, along with common-sense solutions, can help Manchester overcome its challenges.
