Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. The New Hampshire Lottery website had been temporarily taken offline. It's not because they had too many million-dollar winners, but because they were under cyber attack. Lottery officials said the cyber attack began at 9:30 Friday morning, and warned people visiting the site not to click on any pop-up messages. The attack took place on a busy lottery day, officials said. No word yet on when the website will be back online. (WMUR)
  2. A woman lost her grandmother's wedding ring in the ocean at Hampton North Beach. Then, a stranger with a metal detector found it. Francesca Teal told The Boston Globe that she lost her great-grandmother's wedding ring when she was "tossing a football" with her husband at North Beach earlier this month. The 29 year old and her husband searched the water "for hours." She finally posted her plea for help online. Lou Asci, 60, of Marshfield, "put on a wetsuit and headlamp" and searched with his metal detector for two days, without luck. On the third day, miraculously, he found it! (bedfordgazette.com)
  3. If you're looking for excitement, check out the Chaos & Kindness Sky Show will be at Arms Park in Manchester on Saturday. The power fireworks event on Aug. 27, will feature live music, food, go-karts, and an "incredible" sky show of fireworks at 9:15 p.m. The Chaos & Kindness Sky Show at Arms Park is brought to you by Recycled Percussion. The event is free, but you can buy tickets for "a Rockstar or Fan experience." (Manchester Ink Link)
