Here are the top stories in Manchester today:

  1. What's Land Court? Governor Sununu supports the idea to create a special court just for real estate lawsuits. The special court could "reduce delays and lower costs" developers face when they contest local decisions on housing projects, Governor Chris Sununu said in Manchester on Thursday. State Rep. Robert Lynn (R-Windham), who is also a former Supreme Court chief justice, filed legislation for 2023 to create "a special court for property matters in the superior court system." “I really like the concept of that,” Sununu said. 2. Bears are gathering food they need for a long winter hibernation, and they are being spotted around New Hampshire. Last week, a young small black bear was walking through downtown Manchester early in the morning. Recently, three black bears were spotted near the Omni Mount Washington Resort hotel. You can see the video here: (WMUR)
  3. The Red Cross is thankful for New Hampshire residents who volunteered to help hurricane victims in Florida after the devastation from Ian. Deborah Budney of Peterborough, who said she was a nursing assistant for years, is again doing the work she loves after signing up for the Red Cross. Budney said, "I’m back to what I like to do, which is take care of people,” adding, "after a disaster there's still a lot of work to be done and a lot of help needed." (WMUR)
