5 Things: Cheerleaders to be Recognized
Merrimack Cardinals midget cheerleaders will be recognized by the Town Council for winning nationals.

1. Food drive. The Merrimack Police Department said on its Facebook page Wednesday that it is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support it's had with this years community food drive and reminded people they are still collecting food until the end of the year. Drop off donations of non-perishable food in the lobby of the police department and click on the photo at right to read the MPD's full message to its Facebook fans.
2. Cheerleader recognition. The Town Council will recognize the Merrimack Cardinals midget cheerleading squad at their meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room. The cheerleaders recently won nationals in Florida. Get the rest of the Town Council agenda on the town website.
3. AM Networking. Join the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce and Go Wireless for Friday morning's AM Networking event. According to the Chamber website, "Go Wireless is the largest single owner Verizon Wireless agent in New England. 4. Get eBooks. The Merrimack Public Library will offer a free training session for eReader owners Wednesday, January 9, at 7 pm. This workshop is for people who want to borrow eBooks from New Hampshire Downloadable Books Consortium, a service of the NH State Library and 190 NH public libraries. These eBooks are compatible with all eReaders as well as many mobile devices. Librarians Ellen Knowlton and Nancy Vigezzi will demonstrate the service for both Amazon Kindle and ePub-compatible readers. You may bring your device, but it’s not required. Limited to 20 participants, registration is required by calling 424-5021 or emailing mmkpl@merrimack.lib.nh.us.
5. Weather watch. Today's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 40. Tonight, rain and snow showers are likely, mainly after 5 a.m. Patchy fog after 4 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 32.
