5 Things: Do One Good Deed Today
Register to vote tonight with the first of several upcoming registration nights.

Here are five things you should know as you start your Thursday.
1. New blogger welcome. On Wednesday, Merrimack Patch welcomed its newest blogger, Gary Krupp, to the fold. Krupp's blog Merrimack Education Matters, takes on a subject near and dear to the 2012 School Board candidate's heart. Check out his first post: Tax Dollars are for Lobbying^Education
2. Town Council meeting. The Town Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Merrimack Town Hall Meeting Room. On the agenda is a meeting with the Nashua Regional Planning Commission representatives about the implication of inclusion of toll plaza locations in the Nashua Regional Planning Commission 3-year transportation plan. The board will also give Town Manager Eileen Cabanel direction for the 2013-14 budget. Get the full agenda.

3. One good deed. I ran across this blog post Wednesday and wanted to pass along, because, well, wouldn't this world be a better place if everyone did one good deed a day? The author Erin McHugh is the author of the book "One Good Deed: 365 Days of Trying to be Just a Bit Better." She talks about why she will never pass a lemonade stand without stopping and it made me think of Lexi PereiraIn general it just made me think. McHugh's Wednesday blog on Huffington Post was the start of a "One Good Deed" revolution and she asked people to share their good deeds of the day. I challenge each reader of 5 Things today to do one good deed before the day is over, big or small, and post about it in the comments below. Pass along this post and see if we can start our own "revolution" in Merrimack.
4. Register to vote. The Merrimack Supervisors of the Checklist will hold the first of several voter registration sessions tonight at the Merrimack Town Hall in the Town Clerk's Office from 7-8 p.m. In order to participate in local or state elections and meetings, you must be registered to vote. You must register to vote in person and may register to vote at the Town Clerk’s Office or at the polls on an election day. You must be 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and domiciled in the town.
