5 Things: Raise Some Dough for JMUES

Morning news and notes in a tidy package.

Happy Monday, Merrimack. It's the first full week of 2013, are your New Year's resolutions still on track?

1. School board meeting. The Merrimack School Board will discuss sections of the proposed 2013-14 budget tonight, including special education and library/media/technology. Tonight's meeting will be in the cafeteria at Merrimack High School beginning at 7:30 p.m.

2. Dough-raiser. Sal's Pizza Merrimack has teamed up with James Mastricola Upper Elementary School's Parent Faculty Association to offer Sal's food for your family and to help the JMUES PFA raise some dough. This Wednesday, Jan. 9, JMUES will receive 10 percent of all the sales all day long. Dine in or order take out by calling 424-3000 on Jan. 9.

3. Welcome our newest blogger. Sen. President Peter Bragdon, R-Milford, who represents District 11 (Merrimack, Amherst, Wilton and Milford) is the newest blogger to join Merrimack, Amherst and Milford Patches. Bragdon's first post is up and discusses committee assignments, legislative pay and organization day.

4. Budget hearing. The Merrimack Town Council will meet tonight at 6 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room (formerly the town hall meeting room) for a meeting to review the budget for several departments including: Public Works Administration, Highway, Solid Waste Disposal, Equipment Maintenance, Buildings and Grounds and Wastewater Treatment Fund.

5. Weather watch. Nice day on tap with mostly sunny skies and a high near 33. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 20. Information from the National Weather Service.
