5 Things: Take in the High School Play
In other school news, JMUES is holding its annual food drive until Nov. 16.

1. The Drowsy Chaperone. Merrimack High School's theater department is performing The Drowsy Chaperone, a 2006 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical. Performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. Performances are in the Merrimack High School theater. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. Sold at the door and seating is general admission. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
2. Recount deadline. The deadline to request a recount for Tuesday's election results is the end of the day today. Local recounts may be requested at the Town Clerk/Tax Collector's office before it closes at 4:30 p.m.
3. ICYMI. The town's tax rate was set on Wednesday and means a 22 cent per $1,000 reduction on your tax bills. Payments are due on Dec. 10.

4. Food drive. James Mastricola Upper Elementary School is hosting its annual food drive, on now until Nov. 16. All collections will be donated to the food pantries at St. John Neumann and St. James United Methodist churches.
5. Weekend weather. The National Weather Service is predicting a nice looking late fall weekend on tap. Check it out an make some plans for ways to spend it. If you have a three day weekend, enjoy it!
