5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 22
Voter registration sessions will be held nightly this week. Don't forget to register.
1. Don't forget to register to vote! The Supervisors of the Checklist will hold nightly voter registration hours this week from Monday through Thursday at the Town Clerk's office from 7-8 p.m. A Saturay session wil be held at now. Make voting day a little easier and make sure you're registered now.
2. Trick or Treat hours. A reminder that Trick or Treat in Merrimack is just around the corner. Head out for a night of fun on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. Get some Hallloween safety tips to make sure its a fun AND safe night.
3. Ski program registration. Are you upper elementary students going to be part of the Pat's Peak Snow Sports program? Registration will be Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in room 152 (computer lab). The Snowsports program will run five consecutive Thursdays, Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. Should any cancellations occur the likely make-up date would be Thursday, Feb. 7. Two payments are necessary. One to Pat’s Peak for skiing/snowboarding, which will require a credit card (amount will vary depending on products purchased). The second to James Mastricola Upper Elementary School for bus transportation ($99) and may be paid by check. Student insurance, medical, and custodial (if necessary) information will be needed. Also, the height, weight, and shoe size of your child may be needed if you plan to rent equipment.

4. Fall Festival. The Reeds Ferry Wellness Committee is hosting its second annual Fall Fest on Tuesday Oct. 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. (Rain date Oct. 25). The event will once again feature a scarecrow jamboree, face painting, games, healthy treats, and new this year Awesome Autumn Aerobics.
5. Weather watch. Another nice day on tap. The National Weather Service says today will be sunny, with a high near 63 windy with possible gusts as high as 26 mph. Tonight, mostly clear, with a low around 42.
