5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 23
Mark your calendar for a family visit to Barnes and Noble on Thursday.

1. A valuable MPD program. Do you know someone who may have a memory impairment or autism? It could be a friend, relative, or even a neighbor. If you do and want to help keep them safe, sign up them up for our "Operation Safe Return" Program. We will get all the information we need, including a recent photo and keep it at the station on file so if they are located somewhere, we can help them get home. The information also includes places they may frequent or ways to calm them if they nervous. For more information about the program, contact Officer Rob Kelleher at 420-1853.
2. BU student's tweet goes viral. A few hours before Monday's debate, Boston University student Patrick Curran (@PCurran86) posted a tweet that jokingly laid out Mitt Romney's 5-point plan to his 395 followers and anyone else who happened on it. More than 19,000 retweets later, Curran is getting a taste of what it's like to go viral. Read on.
3. Story Night at Barnes & Noble. Thorntons Ferry School will be holding its annual "Story Night" at Barnes & Noble in Nashua on Thursday, Oct. 25. The principal and assistant [rincipal, as well as many TFS staff members, will be reading books and performing skits beginning at 6:30 p.m. The performance will last approximately 30-45 minutes. There will be vouchers available that evening. Any purchase you make with the voucher, whether it is one of the books the staff will be reading, another book, cafe items, Nooks or anything else in the store, (except gift cards) will benefit Thorntons Ferry School.
