5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 25

Only two days until the weekend! Here are five things you should know as you start your Thursday.

1. How Pinteresting. The Merrimack Police Department announced yesterday that it has created an account on Pinterest as another way to connect with the community. Are you a pinner? Connect with MPD.

2. Skate Park Closing for the Season. The Merrimack Skate Park will be closed for the season at sunset on Sunday, Nov. 4. Contact the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department at 882-1046 with any questions. See you in the Spring.

3. Town Council meets. The Town Council will meet tonight in the Town Hall Meeting Room beginning at 7 p.m. On the agenda, the board will discuss the memorandum of understanding regarding Grater Woods that was approved at the last School Board meeting. Get the full agenda here.

4. Weather Watch. Today is supposed to be mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Tonight, mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.

5. Halloween happenings. The YMCA and Merrimack Parks and Recreation are holding two separate Halloween events on Friday. The YMCA is holding a family spooktacular that will include games, a haunted house, bounce house and more from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26. The event is free to all and will be held at Camp Sargent. Then, from 5-8 p.m., the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department and Police and Children together will hold the annual haunted walk at Wasserman Park. A haunted house, a spooky walk through the woods, games and refreshments will keep attendees busy. Come in costume to both events and have a Happy Halloween.
