5T: Don't Have Time for a Yard Sale? Donate to Lionesses
Here are five things you should know as you start your Wednesday.

1. Scholarship deadline extended. The Merrimack Chamber of Commerce scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, extra-curricular activity, and community service to a graduating high school senior. Applicants for this scholarship must be an employee (or the dependent of an employee), whose employer is a member in good standing with the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce. Awarded will be five $1,500 scholarships. Students from any high school are eligible if they meet above employee criteria. Application deadline is 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3 (that's this Friday!) Finalists will be contacted by phone and/or email by Friday, May 17, and invited to interview the week of May 27. Click here for the link to the application, or visit the Chamber's website at www.merrimackchamber.org and click on the scholarship application button. Questions? Email scholarship@merrimackchamber.org or call the Chamber at (603) 424-3669.
2. Books for Babies. Did you know the Merrimack Public Library has a gift for newborn babies in town? According to the Friends of the Merrimack Public Library "We feel it is important for parents to begin reading to their newborns as early as possible. Therefore new babies born to Merrimack residents will receive a card from the Friends, inviting their parents to bring the card to the library to receive a special gift bag. In this bag we have a new book for the baby, a bib, other gifts and a special list of books that might be of interest to new parents. If you know a Merrimack resident who just became a parent and might be interested in receiving this gift bag, email Stacia Kriebel at chillininnh@hotmail.com or forward their name and mailing address to the Friends, c/o the Merrimack Library, 470 D.W. Highway, Merrimack, NH, 03054."
3. Story hour. Join Merrimack's newest preschool, Children's Quest Academy, on Thursday for a story hour that includes stories, songs, movement, and hands-on fun. The Butterflies Class on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. is recommended for children 24-36 months. Although all ages are welcome, the stories and activities will be based on that age group. Siblings are always welcome as well. Registration is strongly suggested and all children must be accompanied with an adult caregiver. Drop in is welcome but limited space is available.
