Turkey Hill Road Expected to be Closed Until Around 4 p.m.

This is the second accident with a pole on this stretch of road since Friday.

UPDATE, 1 p.m.: No one was injured in an accident around 9 a.m. on Turkey Hill Road that cracked a telephone pole near its base. 

However, the road is expected to be closed until around 4 p.m. for PSNH to replace the broken pole. PSNH told police it would probably take about seven hours to replace the pole.

Sgt. Dennis Foley said he was unsure at this time if any charges would be filed in connection with the accident. 

He also said there was no resulting power outage when the accident occurred. 

ORIGINAL STORY: Turkey Hill Road at Pilgrim Drive is closed due to a motor vehicle accident with a pole, the second such accident in the same area since Friday.

Traffic is being detoured around the accident through the Beacon Drive neighborhood. 

Police ask motorists to please drive slowly through the residential neighborhood. 

On Friday, Turkey Hill Road was closed from McQuestion Road to Pilgrim Avenue for more than seven hours while PSNH replaced a pole that had been snapped in an accident shortly before 3 p.m.

It is unknown at this time how long the road will be closed.
