Bedford Man Arrested for Lying on Gun Application

A Bedford man was arrested Friday for lying on a gun application about his history of domestic abuse.

Kevin G. Sutter, 49, of 3 Swenson Road, Bedford, was charged with one count of unsworn falsification, a misdemeanor stemming from an Oct. 3 attempt to purchase a handgun in town.Police say Sutter lied on the federal 4473 form when asked about prior convictions of domestic-related assaults, which Sutter has on his criminal record dating back to 1997.

Sutter was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 5 to answer the misdemeanor charge.
