• Federal legislation would recognize cancer work hazard for firefighters (wmur.com) — A Merrimack firefighter’s family story is helping drive federal legislation to recognize cancer as a job-related hazard for firefighters nationwide. Lt. Chris Wyman of the Merrimack Fire Department has shared how his wife, Nashua firefighter Jessica Wyman, died from occupational lung cancer. New Hampshire already presumes firefighter cancers are work-related, and the proposed Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act would extend similar protections nationally.
   

• New Boston man faces felony, multiple charges after high speed pursuit ending in Bedford crash (unionleader.com) — A New Boston driver accused of going 123 mph on I-293 and fleeing police will face several charges in Merrimack District Court after a crash in Bedford. State police say the man allegedly tried to elude a trooper before striking another vehicle on South River Road. No injuries were reported, but the BMW was heavily damaged and the driver faces both felony and misdemeanor counts.
